An absolute staple and sold in vast quantities in supermarkets globally, but it is also incredibly easy to make yourself in no time at all. When made fresh, homemade hummus has far more flavour and tastes better than store bought.
I always keep a can or two of chickpeas in the cupboard and it's a regular lunch choice for us either with bread, with a salad, or in a wrap. Once you make it for yourself and see how easy it is, you'll never go back to buying ready-made again.

To garnish the dish, you can sprinkle a little of your favourite spice on top. Paprika and sumak are great and very popular options but others work wonders too. I'm quite partial to a little fenugreek.
